Vivian is a data scientist who has been devoted to the analytics industry and the development and use of data technologies for several years. She obtained expertise in data analysis and data management using various statistical analytical tools and programming languages as a Senior Analyst and Biostatistician at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Scientific Programmer at Brown University. She is the co-founder SupStat, founder of NYC Data Science Academy and NYC Open-Data meetup. She likes to portray herself as a programmer, data-holic, visualization evangelist. She earned her M.S. degree in Computer Science and Statistics and B.S. degree in Computer Science.
Allen Y. Chen
Co-founder & Managing Director, Beijing Office
Allen is an experienced data scientist with a concentration in data mining and machine learning. Prior to founding SupStat, he was the Chief Data Scientist of Xinhua Index Ltd., a subsidiary of the Xinhua News Agency of China. He is also founder of big data science community in China, DataMeng.com (Union of Data Scientists) and a very important members of Capital of Statistics(COS). He received his M.S. degree in Statistics from Renmin University of China, and earned his Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) in 2008.

Kai Xiao is a statistician who has been involved in data analysis and predictive modeling using R for over 8 years. Kai is also an R instructor who co-authored Data Science with R, a publication of Xi’an Jiaotong University Press. As a contributor to the R community, he says that R is his favorite weapon of mass deduction. He received his Master Degree of Economy. Kai is main driving force of our training program toward corporate.
Maverick J. Guo
Senior Analytic Manager, NYC office
Dr. Guo is currently at the SDAL, Vriginia Bioinformatics Institute. He is also a postdoctoral researcher at Columbia University working on Bayesian applied statistics and Bayesian computation. Guo is in the core development team of Stan (a package for Bayesian model computation using the Markov chain Monte Carlo method) and he maintains the package rstan, an R interface for Stan. His research interests lie in Bayesian methods, statistical computing, and applied statistics. He received his Ph.D. in Statistics from Iowa State University. Besides statistics, Guo has an interdisciplinary background in computer science, economics, and management.

Yibo is a data scientist concentrating in data analysis, data mining, and machine learning. Previously, he worked as a data mining engineer developing scripts for R, HiveQL, and RHadoop, and providing statistics to support BI products, such as Log-Analysis (source segmentation), Consumer-Analysis (consumer segmentation) and Products-Analysis (association rules). Yibo earned his Master in Mathematics from Zhejiang University in China. He is ranked top 0.1% on Kaggle.com.

Ms.Gokkaya is a business executive with international experience and management skills in high tech companies, for the past 15 years, in the area of Information Management, Business Analytics, Enterprise Applications, Business Process and System Integration engagements. Most recently Ms.Gokkaya has worked for a New York IBM reseller where she focused on Big Data and Advance Business Analytics Services. She supported finance and retail industry clients in developing corporate data strategies to predict business results and capitalize the financial performance, strategic management and operational efficiency. Previously, Ms.Gokkaya worked for Teradata/EMEA team where she managed account relationship and engagements with HSBC, BNP Paribas, Vodafone. Prior to Teradata, Ms. Gokkaya worked as Sales and Marketing Manager for Siemens where she led the sales activities and the teams of turn key business process management projects.
Senior Consultant, NYC Office
Dr. Hachadoorian conducts research in urban geography and demography using geospatial technologies, including tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, PostGIS/PostgreSQL, and R. He is an expert in US census and government data, spatial databases, spatial statistics, geovisualization, and geographic information systems. A graduate from Cornell and CUNY Graduate Center, he has taught at Dartmouth College, Hunter College, and New York University. As of Fall 2014 he is an Assistant Professor at Farmingdale State College. Lee advises on SupStat’s geospatial technologies.

Newton’s area of expertise is in statistical modeling using R, SAS, and Stata. He has worked for the US Census Bureau as an information technology specialist and at the Robert Graham Center as a biostatistician, offering data management and analysis on a range of projects including the American Community Survey, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Behavioral Risk Factors Surveillance System, the CDC’s National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Medical Expenditure Panel Survey. Newton received his M.S. degree in Statistics at Stony Brook University was classmate of Vivian Zhang.
Data Scientist, Beijing Office
Tracy pursued a Ph.D. in Biostatistics at the University of Minnesota, and is an expert in statistics, machine learning, time series analysis, and clinical trials. Tracy is also a good business negotiator and active contributor to the team. Tracy covers marketing, community engagement and outreach of partnership while doing cool analytic work.

Tong is pursuing a Master degree of Data Mining and got his M.S. degree of Bachelor of Science of Mathematics and Computational Science. He is very experienced with statistical computing, parallel computing, data analysis, data visualization, algorithm optimization, machine learning, natural language processing, and highly efficient implementation. Tong has been working on Hadoop implementation and benchmarking among vendors.
